At Jewett City Savings Bank, our team makes a difference to our customers, and many of them have been with us for all, if not a good portion, of their careers. Terrill Sabourin Vice President, Operations and eBanking Officer is one of our amazing team members who has been with us since the beginning of her employment journey.
How she started
Terrill (Tee) began her journey with Jewett City Savings Bank in 1988 as a Teller at our Main office, and became an Accounting Clerk only a year later. Eight years later, she was promoted to Operations Support Assistant, a position she held before becoming Deposit Operations Manager in 1999, a role she held for 20 years.
As she quickly rose through management, Tee graduated from Quinebaug Valley Community College with an Associate Degree in business administration, with a focus on accounting. She also received numerous diplomas from the Center for Financial Training and graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management.
How it’s going
In 2019, Tee was promoted to Vice President, Operations and eBanking Officer, joining the Jewett City Savings Bank executive management team, and sharing her knowledge with team members and our customers.
Fun fact about Tee
Did you know that Tee was “jailed” by her staff in 1999 during “Jail Your Boss” day? The Griswold Regional Lions Club’s fundraiser would jail bosses at the request of their employees, and on “Jail Your Boss” day the constable would come to make “arrests,” sending the bosses to jail on Main Street in Jewett City.
Time spent in jail depended on how much money the employees donated, and the donated funds purchased winter coats for local families in need.
