Jewett City Savings Bank Elects Two New Directors and Four New Corporators

Following its 151st Annual Meeting of Corporators on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 Jewett City Savings Bank announced the election of two new Directors and four new Corporators.

Directors

Louis Demicco III is the Vice President of Jewett City Greenhouses, Inc. He is serving his seventh year as the Fire Chief of the Jewett City Fire Department and has served on the Board of Directors for the Jewett City Department of Public Utilities for over 20 years. Demicco has held multiple leadership positions among various community boards and committees, including as past-President of A. A. Young Jr. Hose and Ladder Co. #1, a member of the Griswold Democratic Town Committee, and Town of Griswold Capital Improvement Committee.

Beth Steele is a practicing lawyer and managing partner of the Law Offices of DiFrancesca & Steele, P.C., specializing in litigation, real estate, probate, and personal injury law for over 25 years. She is the current Fact Finder/Arbitrator and Attorney Trial Referee for the State of Connecticut and serves as a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the New London County Bar Association, where she previously held the position of President.

Corporators

Scott Davis has been with Bonner Electric, Inc. for 19 years and is their Vice President of Operations/Controller. A retired law enforcement officer, Davis served as a Patrolman with the Norwich Police Department and as a Patrol/Detective Sergeant with the Montville Police Department. He is a board member and current Chairman of the Griswold Board of Finance.

Douglas Hall is a practicing attorney in Connecticut and is an active member of the United States District Court of Connecticut and the State Bar of Michigan. He has served as an Attorney at the National Association of Government Employees since 2010, and is a part-time lecturer for undergraduate courses at Connecticut State Community College – Quinebaug Valley campus.

Melissa Meyers is the Chief Executive Officer of Generations Family Health Center, Inc., where she has worked since 1995. Meyers is one of the founders and a member of the Northeastern Connecticut Women and Girls Fund. She is also a recurring guest lecturer at Eastern Connecticut State University and serves on numerous boards, such as the Community Health Center Association of Connecticut, the Community Health Network, Inc., and the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.

Erin Palonen has been the Principal of Griswold High School for eight years and previously served as the Director of Special Education for Griswold Public Schools. Palonen serves as the Chair of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and chairs the organization’s Collaborative Conference Visits and Decennial Visits to schools in New England. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Saint Joseph, teaching special education courses and supervising student teachers.
