Jewett City Savings Bank recently presented the Northeast Connecticut Education Foundation (NCEF) with a $12,000 contribution to the Jewett City Savings Bank Endowed Scholarship.
“The Northeast Connecticut Education Foundation is pleased to accept this significant donation from Jewett City Savings Bank. The Bank has been a longtime supporter of the Foundation with both monetary donations and time donations by their employees,” said President of Northeast Connecticut Education Foundation, Joseph Adiletta. “Jewett City Savings Bank truly understands the value of education and demonstrates it by their ongoing support.”
The Scholarship is awarded to students in the community who wish to pursue higher education. The Bank has a long history of supporting the community college, and was privileged to have Dr. Robert E. Miller, President Emeritus of Quinebaug Valley Community College, serve on the Bank’s Board of Directors for over 20 years. Bank employees have also maintained an active involvement with the NCEF Board, including current member, Executive Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Administrative Officer, Diana Rose.
“As a mutually owned community savings bank, we are rooted in the fabric of eastern Connecticut,” said President and CEO Michael Alberts. “We have a responsibility to well-support those organizations like the Northeast Connecticut Education Foundation that are likewise committed to improving the lives of our area residents.”
