Michael Alberts, President & CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank, announced the election of Brittany Bonchuk Valentine, LCSW, as a new Corporator.
“We are excited to welcome Brittany Bonchuk Valentine as a new Corporator,” said Alberts. “Her history, passion, and leadership skills will be instrumental in helping Jewett City Savings Bank’s mission to support the growth of our communities in southeastern Connecticut.”
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Valentine is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Connecticut. She is a clinician and case manager with Waterford Public Schools while also managing a behavioral health private practice in Mystic. Over the past 20 years, she has worked across a variety of behavioral health settings, specializing in supporting children, adolescents, and families. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Connecticut Association of School Social Workers, and served on the Governor’s Task Force on the Justice for Abused Children Multi-Disiplinary Team Evaluation Committee.
Valentine was a member of the New England Patriots Cheerleaders for four years, serving as a Team Captain and representing the organization as a United Service Organization Ambassador supporting U.S troops stationed in Afghanistan, Bahrain, Qatar, Djibouti, Ecuador, and on ships in the Persian Gulf. She is a member of the New England Professional Cheerleaders Alumni Association, which supports charitable causes that promote wellness, mentoring, and leadership.
An active member of the Connecticut community, Valentine is involved in a wide variety of organizations to which she is connected both professionally and personally. She has served as a fitness instructor and head coach or captain on several professional and collegiate cheerleading and dance teams. Valentine has volunteered as a coach for the Stonington Little League and for North Stonington Public School and community events.
