Jewett City Savings Bank Promotes Seven Employees

Michael Alberts, President and CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank, announced the promotions of Sonya Armstrong, Brian Streigle, Melissa Waite, Sarah Wallace, Justin Croteau, Stacy Hayes, and Matthew Voelker.

Sonya Armstrong, Vice President,
Loan Operations Manager

Sonya Armstrong has been promoted to Vice President and has held the position of Loan Operations Manager since she joined the Bank in 2022. She currently serves on the Advisory Board for Hale YMCA in Putnam and as Treasurer for the Brooklyn Little League. Armstrong is currently attending the Connecticut Bankers Association School of Finance and Management and is expected to graduate in 2026.

Brian Streigle, Vice President,
Branch Manage

Brian Streigle, Branch Manager of the Bank’s Main Office in Jewett City, has been promoted to Vice President. Serving in four combat deployments during his 20 years with the United States Army, Streigle was awarded a Bronze Star.  He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut and is currently attending the Connecticut Bankers Association School of Finance and Management, Class of 2027.

Melissa Waite, Vice President,
Branch Manager

Melissa Waite has been promoted to Vice President. Waite has been with the Bank for over 20 years, beginning her career as a teller and moving up in positions of increased responsibility, she is currently Branch Manager of the Bank’s Brooklyn office.  An active member of the Brooklyn Business Association, where she serves as Treasurer and Executive Committee Member, she recently received their 2025 Volunteer of the Year award. Waite is a member of the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce and graduated with honors from the Connecticut Bankers Association School of Finance and Management.

Sarah Wallace, Vice President,
Branch Administrator

Sarah Wallace has been promoted to Vice President and is currently the Bank’s Branch Administrator.  Wallace has 20 years of banking experience and is responsible for overseeing the Bank’s branch staff in all seven locations.  She currently serves as Treasurer of the Plainfield Business Association, and was a 2018 recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award from the Killingly-Brooklyn Rotary Club.

Justin Croteau, Assistant Vice President,
Branch Manager

Justin Croteau, Branch Manager of the Bank’s Preston office, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Croteau joined the Bank in 2024 and has eight years of experience in the banking industry.  He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut and is an avid outdoorsman.

Stacy Hayes, Assistant Vice President,
Senior Compliance Analyst

Stacy Hayes, Senior Compliance Analyst, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Hayes has been with the Bank for over 20 years, starting as a part-time teller. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Connecticut State University, is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering and Fraud Professional (CAFP), and is currently enrolled in the Connecticut Bankers Association School of Finance and Management, Class of 2027.

Matthew Voelker, Assistant Vice President,
Commercial Loan Officer

Matthew Voelker has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer. Voelker graduated Cum Laude from Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Business Information Systems.  He is an active member of the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.
