On Monday, June 1, 2020 we will be changing our Card Controls tool as part of a system upgrade. With Card Controls, customers can control their Jewett City Savings Bank debit card – including turning the card on & off (freeze or unfreeze), setting transaction limits and limiting where the card can be used.

Important information for customers currently using Card Controls
Your current preferences and settings will not carry over to the new system. After June 1st, please login to Mobile Banking to re-establish your preferences and alerts (see below for a full list). AVAILABLE CONTROLS AND ALERTS
Controls

  • Turn Your Card On/Off
    With a single tap, you can immediately disable your debit card to block any new purchases or ATM transactions. You can turn the card back on at any time. Keep in mind, teller transactions, existing pending transactions, and recurring transactions are not blocked.
  • Block Merchant Types
    Choose how your card is used by blocking some merchant types.  For example, if you plan on using your card only to buy gas, you can block all other types of merchants.
  • Block Transaction Types
    Decide what types of transactions you will permit by blocking those you want to prevent, such as blocking online or telephone purchases.
  • Set Region Limit
    Limit where, geographically, your card can be used for in-store and ATM transactions by specifying a location radius where transactions are allowed (for example, within 25 miles of your home).  Please note that online purchases are not limited by region controls.
  • Block International Transactions
    Not planning on traveling overseas? Block international in-store and ATM transactions for additional protection. Please note that online purchases are not limited by international controls.
  • Set Transaction Amount Limit
    Setting a maximum amount for each transaction (for example, $100) can help limit losses if your card is stolen.
