Michael Alberts, President and CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank, has announced that the Bank’s Charitable Foundation has awarded $11,000 in grants to support local libraries.
“Libraries play an important role in our communities,” said Alberts. “In addition to educational resources, they provide access to technology and other free services to neighbors of all ages. We hope that the grants will help the libraries continue to support our communities.”
Slater Library in Jewett City was awarded two grants — an $8,000 grant to assist with the library’s window restoration and $1,000 for annual support. Additionally, Aldrich Free Public Library in Moosup received a $1,500 grant to assist in providing STEM supplies to children, and Voluntown Public Library received a $500 grant for moveable shelving.
