Following its 150th Annual Meeting of Corporators on Wednesday, March 29, Jewett City Savings Bank announced the election of a Director and four new Corporators.
Director
Graeme J. Everson is the owner and operator of Mercer Monument Works of Plainfield, Connecticut, which has grown to include three additional locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts. A graduate of Plainfield High School, he also served in the Connecticut Army National Guard for eight years as a Combat Engineer. An active community member, Everson serves on the board of the Moosup Fire Department and is a member of the New England Monument Builders Association, Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce and Plainfield Business Association.
Corporators
Kate K. Beauparlant of Voluntown, Connecticut has held the position of Chairperson of the Board of Education for Voluntown Elementary School since 2019, previously serving as a board member from 2017 to 2019. She has 16 years of experience in the financial industry and was a Senior Relationship Manager at State Street Global Advisors in Boston, Massachusetts.
Katina Simmons is the owner of Griswold Eye Care in Jewett City, Connecticut. A graduate of Western New England University, she holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry. Simmons graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts as a Doctor of Optometry.
Beth A. Steele is a practicing lawyer at DiFrancesca & Steele, P.C. in Norwich, Connecticut specializing in litigation, real estate, probate, and personal injury law for over 25 years. She is the current Fact Finder/Arbitrator and Attorney Trial Referee for the State of Connecticut and serves on numerous boards, such as the Connecticut Bar Association and the New London County Bar Association.
James Zahansky is the Principal/Managing Partner and Chief Goal Strategist of Weiss, Hale and Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors in Pomfret Center, Connecticut. He serves on the Hale YMCA Board of Advisors and is the President of the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce. Zahansky is also a Director of the Day Kimball Healthcare Board and is an appointed member of Bryant University’s Wall Street Council.
During the meeting, the Bank also recognized the retirement of Director Phillip Tetreault. Tetreault became a Corporator of Jewett City Savings Bank in 1997 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2005. He is the owner of T & S Oil Company, and is an owner/member of Route 12 Bulk LLC and PET Investments in Plainfield.
