Paycheck Protection Program Closed to Most Lenders

On May 4, 2021 the Small Business Administration (SBA) reported that the funds allocated for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans through most SBA lenders, such as banks, had been exhausted.  The SBA has closed the PPP application portal for banks and will not be accepting new applications, and applications that were pending will not be approved.  Some funding is currently still available through other organizations, such as minority depository institutions and community development financial institutions.
