We are seeking a Credit Analyst (or Senior Credit Analyst, depending on experience) to provide competent credit analysis for commercial lending activities, assist in the administration of commercial borrowing accounts, conduct appraisal reviews, and assist with special projects and assignments. This is an onsite position; we do not offer work-from-home or hybrid work options.
Location: 111 Main Street, Jewett City.
Major Duties and Responsibilities of the Commercial Credit Analyst:
- Complete a thorough, in-depth analysis of commercial credit requests, credit change requests, renewals and annual relationship reviews. Recommend risk rating changes in conjunction with the Lender, when analysis merits. Produce a loan analysis narrative for presentation to Lender, Loan Committee and/or Board of Directors.
- Spread financial statements (personal, business and corporate) regularly to assist lenders in analyzing credits. Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for lenders on new, renewal and existing loans. Report findings to Credit Manager that may have an adverse effect on the loan collateral or the Borrower’s ability to repay the loan.
- Ensure company credit exposures on assigned loans are within the guidelines of the loan policy and underwriting procedures. Demonstrate excellent oral and written skills in the preparation of credit memos and reports.
- Attend committee meetings and assist the presenting loan officer with any questions that may arise related to the underwriting processes.
- Assist with additional analysis and projects as needed or assigned.
- Efficiently manage multiple priorities, function independently after training, meet deadlines and work effectively in a team environment.
Minimum Requirements for Credit Analyst: two to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field strongly preferred. More qualified candidates may be considered for a Senior Credit Analyst position.
