Important Information About Our Response to COVID-19

At Jewett City Savings Bank, we take the health and safety of our customers, employees, and neighbors seriously. Below you will find information about how we are managing the changes and challenges related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

Our branch lobbies remain closed.  We are able to handle all of your banking needs through our drive-up windows, available at all locations.  There may be longer wait times because we are handling more complex transactions at the drive-up window.  We ask for your patience and understanding.

Our staffs are cleaning the drive-up window drawers and tube canisters with disinfectants after every customer use.  They are also cleaning the keypads and touchscreens on our ATMs at least twice each day we are open, and more frequently when possible.

You will notice that our staffs are wearing face-coverings in accordance with the latest executive order by the Governor.  Thank you to the staff members, customers, and volunteer organizations that have provided face-coverings to our essential front-line team members.

How to access your accounts

Drive-up
All transactions will be handled through our drive-up window. For more complex transactions, such as opening a new account or authorizing a wire transfer, please call the office in advance.

Night Drop
You can put your deposit or loan payment in an envelope and drop it off in the night depository, available at all branch locations.

ATMs
Through our ATM network, you can withdraw cash, check account balances and transfer funds between your accounts with us. You can also deposit cash and checks at any Jewett City Savings Bank ATM, available at all branch locations.

Mobile Banking
Through our mobile app, you can check balances, transfer funds, pay bills, deposit checks and more.

Online Banking
Through online banking, you can check balances, transfer funds, pay bills, access eStatements, and send secure messages to our team for account inquiries.

In our offices

  • We continue to reinforce our health and safety practices with all employees, including the importance of proper handwashing and the regular use of hand sanitizer.
  • Surfaces in public spaces including countertops and doorknobs are being cleaned with disinfectants on a regular basis.
  • Employees who are feeling ill or are exhibiting symptoms of illness are being asked to stay at home.
  • To reduce exposure further, we have implemented social distancing strategies, such as no longer greeting colleagues and customers with a handshake. In addition, our employees will not be joining any large group functions or community events until the threat has passed.

Be aware of Coronavirus scams

As too often is the case, periods of uncertainty are often accompanied by fraud-related attempts. Scammers have been setting up fraudulent websites to sell virus-related products and using emails and social media in attempts to steal your personal and financial information.  You’ll find alerts and links to trusted sources in the latest article in our Security Center.

In addition, the Federal Trade Commission offers the following tips to protect yourself:

  • Never click on links from institutions unfamiliar to you. Doing so could result in having a virus downloaded onto your computer or device.
  • Ensure you have up-to-date virus protection software and the latest updates downloaded on your computer or device.
  • Be on the alert for false emails from what appears to be the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Instead, visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention official website as well as the World Health Organization (WHO) website.
  • Ignore ads and online offers promoting vaccines, preventions, treatment, or claims of cures for the Coronavirus.

Remember, Jewett City Savings Bank will never call you, unsolicited, and ask for information about your accounts. If you suspect you have been the victim of fraud, please contact the Bank immediately.
