			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Lisa Legler and Mary Papenfoth, Branch Managers at Jewett City Savings Bank, are recent graduates of the Connecticut School of Finance &amp; Management, an intensive two year bank management training program sponsored by the Connecticut Bankers Association.  Over 2,000 bankers have graduated from the school during its 51-year history.  The program provides an opportunity for bank management personnel and other key employees of Connecticut’s banking industry to obtain a more comprehensive knowledge and awareness of banking theory, practices and procedures, capital markets and management functions.</p>

Merchant, president and CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank, has announced the promotion of three employees to the title of assistant vice president. They are Katherine Quackenbush and Dianne Chiavarini, both of Plainfield, and Jenny Driscoll of Moosup.</p>
<p>Katherine Quackenbush is the Bank’s human resources officer. She joined the Bank in 2007 as a teller, and served in roles of increasing responsibility including customer service representative and human resources assistant before being named as human resources officer. She is a graduate of Grove City College in Pennsylvania.</p>
<p>Dianne Chiavarini is the manager of Jewett City Savings Bank’s Central Village branch. Hired in 1992, Dianne recently celebrated 20 years of service with the bank. She has also served in teller, customer service representative, and assistant branch manager positions. She is a member of the board of the Plainfield Business Association.</p>
<p>Jenny Driscoll joined the Bank in 2001 as a teller, and subsequently served as escrow clerk and loan servicing assistant before being named to her current role as loan originations manager. She attended Eastern Connecticut State University.</p>

<p>Kevin C. Merchant, president and CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank, has announced a new management team now in place at the Bank’s Dayville branch.</p>
<p>Melissa Deslauriers, formerly assistant branch manager at the Bank’s Main Office in Jewett City, has been promoted to branch manager in Dayville. Rhonda Pearson was promoted from her position as head teller and customer service representative at the Bank’s Preston branch to assistant branch manager in Dayville.</p>
<p>A Norwich resident, Deslauriers joined Jewett City Savings Bank in 2004 as a teller at the Central Village office. She subsequently moved to the Main Office as a customer service representative, and was promoted to assistant branch manager in 2009. She has earned numerous financial services certificates from the Center for Financial Training, and was ranked first in her residential mortgage lending class.</p>
<p>Pearson, a Plainfield resident, joined the Bank in 2006, as a teller at the Main Office. She transferred to the Bank’s Preston branch when that office opened in 2008, serving as head teller and customer service representative. She was a 2009 recipient of the Jewett City Savings Bank “Exceptional Service Award.”</p>

He is also a member of the Griswold Business Association and the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.</p>
<p>A Sterling resident, Merchant will celebrate a 30-year anniversary milestone with Jewett City Savings Bank in 2011. He joined the bank as an assistant vice president, and subsequently served as vice president and then senior vice president before being named as president and CEO in 2007.</p>

<p>Deslauriers has been promoted to assistant branch manager. She joined Jewett City Savings Bank in 2004 as a teller and has also served as a customer service representative. She is a graduate of Plainfield High School, and holds certificates from the Center for Financial Training in areas including Professional Teller, Retail Sales and Service, Financial Services and Supervision. She is a Preston resident.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tomasz Kosek of Middletown has joined Jewett City Savings Bank as assistant vice president and investment executive with Infinex Investments, Inc., according to an announcement by Kevin C. Merchant, president and CEO.</p>
<p>As the manager of client services at Infinex Financial Group, Kosek has provided Jewett City Savings Bank customers with investment services over the past two years. That experience prompted his decision to join the Bank as an Infinex representative. He will be located at the Bank’s main office in Jewett City.</p>
<p>Infinex offers a range of investment options including mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and long-term care insurance. Kosek joined Infinex Financial Group in 2000 as a relationship manager, and was named manager of client services in 2004. Previously, he was a financial associate with Pratt &amp; Whitney in Cheshire.</p>
<p>He is a graduate of New Britain High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance at Central Connecticut State University. He holds Series 7, 63, 24 Registrations and Life and Health Licenses.</p>
