$10.5K awarded for health services by Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation

Five health services organizations in Eastern CT were recently awarded a total of $10,500 in grants from the Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation, according to Kevin Merchant, president and CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank.

Two of the grants were made to Norwich nonprofits. United Community & Family Services received $5,000 to support its capital campaign for the Griswold Health Center. The Center for Hospice Care Southeast CT received a $500 grant in annual support and a second $500 award to support the Special Care Fund providing assistance for emergent family needs, special therapies and services for patients, and bereavement counseling.

In Danielson, Westcott-Wilcox Elderly Residential Housing received a $2,500 Foundation grant for necessary repairs and upgrades to heating and hot water systems to meet residential care home regulations. United Services, Inc. was awarded $1,000 in support of its capital campaign for the new Windham Regional Health and Wellness Center.

In Putnam, Day Kimball Healthcare received an annual support grant of $1,000 from the Foundation.

“Each of these health services agencies provides outstanding assistance, treatment, and care to people in the communities served by Jewett City Savings Bank,” said Merchant. “We are proud to help them respond to the needs of our friends and neighbors.”
