United Community & Family Services Awarded More Than $2,000 from JCSB Foundation

The Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation has granted $2,260 to United Community & Family Services, Inc. (UCFS) of Norwich. A non-profit health and human services agency, UCFS provides medical, women’s, dental, and behavioral health services, as well as substance abuse and gambling addiction services.

The Foundation’s donation will be used to provide dental supplies for uninsured clients of the organization’s new Mobile Dental Suite in Griswold and Plainfield, and to create marketing materials to increase awareness of the dental health services in the local communities.

The donation is part of Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation’s commitment to making quality health care accessible in high-need communities. In the past year, the Foundation awarded more than $60,000 to help 38 local non-profit organizations carry out their missions. According to Kevin Merchant, Foundation President, since its inception 10 years ago, the Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 to local non-profit and community based organizations, underscoring its long-term commitment to philanthropy.
