Commercial team promotions, hires at Jewett City Savings Bank

Avery-SalinskyJewett City Savings Bank has announced two promotions and two new hires in the commercial loan department, according to Kevin C. Merchant, president and CEO. They are Gary Salinsky of Mystic, Tisha Avery of Canterbury, Melissa Wooten of Griswold, and Denise Hebert of Preston.

Gary Salinsky, the bank’s commercial loan officer, has been promoted to vice president. He joined the Bank in 2008 with two decades of financial services experience, including vice president positions at three Virginia banks. He attended Middlesex Community College in Middletown, CT, and Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg, VA.

Previously a commercial loan administrator, Tisha Avery has been promoted to small business lender. Avery has been with Jewett City Savings Bank since 2002, and moved from the teller line through various lending support positions in her career with the bank. In the community, she is a Girl Scout volunteer, and has served as a Relay for Life team co-captain.

Melissa Wooten was hired as senior commercial credit analyst. Her previous experience includes serving as a financial analyst for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and as a credit analyst with Dime Bank. She holds a master’s degree in accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University. Active in the community, she is a Family Team committee member with the March of Dimes’ Greater Mystic March for Babies, and helps coordinate the Griswold Wolverine Cross Country Classic 5K for the Griswold Boosters.

New hire Denise Hebert is a commercial lending assistant with over 25 years of experience. Her previous position was commercial lending representative at Peoples United Bank.
