Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation Accepting 2012 Grant Applications

The Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation is now accepting 2012 grant applications from local 501(c)(3), 170(c)(1) organizations, and other qualified non-profits whose work benefits the population of those communities where Jewett City Savings Bank has a major presence.

The 2012 grant application and guidelines are available online  and at all offices of Jewett City Savings Bank. Completed applications must be received no later than August 31, 2012. Funding for approved projects will be made by December 31, 2012.

Financial support will be offered for existing program support, general support, special projects, and/or start-up endeavors covering a variety of issues impacting the community. The Foundation does not provide funding for individuals, sports, individual schools or religious groups.

The maximum grant amount is $5,000, determined by demonstrated needs and existing resources.

In 2011, Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation grant funding exceeded $50,000. A total of 46 area non-profit civic and charitable groups benefited, including local fire and ambulance companies, food pantries, libraries, and a number of programs advancing education and health initiatives.

“As a true hometown bank, we take pride in giving back to the community,” said Kevin C. Merchant, Foundation President. “We are honored to help dedicated, committed non-profit organizations carry out their mission to enhance the quality of life in the neighborhoods served by the Bank.”
