Lessons in Hometown Banking: Your bank should be an open book!

It’s report card time and the Jewett City Savings Bank 2011 Annual Report is here and up for your review.

This year we took our hometown banking lessons to heart and into the community. We are proud to share our “report card”.  These are the lessons we live by in community banking; they define our culture, brand and express our values.

Provoking lessons such as, “Supporting local businesses helps grow our local economy”, collective opinion, “A real person should answer the phone” and good reminders, “Customers are friends and neighbors too”. These, and more, are actionable, foundational lessons that combine to define who we are to you, the customer and further establish our place within the greater community.

There is a growing national trend to bank-locally, but this is not why our customer base is growing – we aren’t trendy. Our customers are rediscovering the security and comfort of trusted hometown institutions. We’ve been serving the local community since 1873. This years Annual Report represents our history of prudent management, demonstrating that we are as financially solid as ever.

As always, we welcome your feedback.
